The Newcastle Writers Festival celebrated it’s 10th year anniversary in the summer of 2023. With the direction of founder Rosemarie Milsom, my colleagues Sarah Cox, Maddie Pleash, and myself were hired to create designs for the event.

We were tasked with developing various print, product, and motion designs for the annual reading and writing festival. We worked closely with Rosemarie and her team to create a range of items, including postcards, posters, and merchandise. We collaborated with Studio Zed to design these assets, and they were all approved and ready for production. However, only the brochure was printed in the end. This project gave us valuable insight into the design industry outside of university, where not all designs make it to production. The brochure was a 12-page publication with multiple functions, such as way-finding and event planning. Overall, it was a great experience working on such a significant event and it helped us gain industry-standard design skills and teamwork experience.
