Lies Collective is a new surf clothing brand based in Newcastle, led by entrepreneur Charlie Imig. It gained popularity in the local surf and skate community after starting on TikTok. You can buy their products at East End Skate Shop or on their website, Liescollective.com.

The designs I created for Lies were among the brand's initial pieces. I noticed Charlie starting Lies early in his journey and approached him to collaborate on designs. Together, we created their first hat and some cool Newcastle-themed t-shirts. I drew inspiration from vintage surfwear brands and my personal style preferences. Nature, especially flowers and suns, greatly influenced these designs. Through 2 of the specific cap designs (Orange and Blue), we raised $400 for the non-profit organisation "What Were You Wearing" by selling a limited edition cap in 2 different colors. It was really meaningful to contribute to a cause I care about through my passion.

Designing for Lies was my first taste into apparel design and illustration, and it lit a spark in me towards wanting to do more in the future.
