Lies Collective
Lies Collective is a surf clothing brand based in Newcastle, led by local entrepreneur Charlie Imig. It gained popularity in the local surf and skate community after starting on TikTok.
The designs I created for Lies were among the brand's initial pieces. I noticed Charlie starting Lies early in his journey and approached him to collaborate on some designs. Together, we created their first hat and some cool Newcastle-themed t-shirts. I drew inspiration from vintage Surfwear and my personal style preferences. Nature, especially flowers and the sun greatly influenced these designs.
Through 2 of the specific cap designs (Orange and Blue), we raised $400 for the non-profit organisation "What Were You Wearing". It was really special to contribute to a cause I care about through my art.
Designing for Lies was my first taste into apparel design, and it lit a spark in me towards wanting to do more in the future.
