“New Year, Same You” is a 12-month motivational calendar following the life of a grumpy bear. Fully illustrated, and a bit tongue in cheek, the loveable character will provide some sense of belonging and laughter throughout your year. This unique calendar invites you to embrace your authentic self, quirks and all, and embark on a journey of self-improvement guided by the wisdom of an unconventional companion. Each month, Grungy Bear shares pearls of motivation and life advice that celebrate the beauty of staying true to yourself. With his rugged exterior and unwavering authenticity, he's a testament to the power of embracing who you are.

Stylistic choices for the calendar are based on my developed illustration style, with a colouring-in book style treatment throughout (Specifically on the bear). An orange palette was used in the final calendar, with many colourful iterations along the way. I love the small accents of blue sprinkled throughout and think it is quite effective. I also loved experimenting with ransom style font.
